Today + 3 days ahead — EDF FreePhase rates with generation & weather context

EDF FreePhase Published Rates

Bars show published EDF rates. Rates beyond what EDF has released are intentionally left blank — this site doesn't guess prices.

Renewable Generation vs Demand

The closer the shaded renewables get to the demand line, the more of GB's electricity is coming from cheap wind & solar — and the cheaper wholesale (and FP rates) tend to be. A big gap means expensive gas is filling it. A lighter, dotted demand line shows where we've estimated demand rather than used a published figure.

Residual Demand — the gap gas fills

What's left after wind, solar and nuclear have done their bit — the share of demand that flexible (mostly gas) plant must cover, over the past 7 days. When this line is low, wholesale prices sag (sometimes to zero or below); when it spikes, expensive plant sets the price. Actual half-hourly outturn from NESO, national.
